The excitement of the Christmas season and the New Year have both come and gone once more, leaving not much more than snow, cold, and short days in our midst. The 37th Annual St. Louis RV Vacation & Travel Show: January 9 – January 12
Did you resolve to make more traveling plans this year? Then come out to St. Louis’ annual RV Vacation & Travel Show! You’ll be able to see nearly 300 recreational vehicles, including Motorhomes, 5th wheels, sport utility trailers, travel trailers, van campers, truck campers, and much more! The theme for the show this year will be “Going Places,” and John Holod and his Road to Adventure films will be a big feature, along with authors of Missouri travel books and RV products. Cabin Fever – Winter Beer Festival: January 11
Don’t let the cold weather keep you inside on January 11; just come out to Maplewood for Schlafly’s Cabin Fever: Winter Beer Festival! Dress warm and attend the festival at the Biergarten at Schlafly Bottleworks from noon to 4 p.m. and you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy 18 beer samples and receive a commemorative tasting glass. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.

Souper Wine Weekend: January 11 – January 12
For adventure in country, mark your calendars to take part in the beautiful wine country scenery of Ste. Genevieve! Journey through the wine country to partake in warm bowls of comfort food paired with delicious Missouri wine at all six wineries, and you will also receive a complimentary Route du Vine wine glass and 10% off all wine purchases made that day. Peter & the Wolf at the Powell Symphony Hall: January 12
Treat your family to a wonderful, musical experience at Powell Symphony Hall on January 12th at 3 p.m. Performers from STAGES St. Louis will join the St. Louis Symphony to act out this family favorite, which is designed to entertain children from the ages of 5 through 12. Loop Ice Carnival: January 17 and January 18
Celebrate the season of winter at the Loop Ice Carnival in the Delmar Loop. Experience ice carving demonstrations, a s’mores roast, human dog sled races, game booths, and much more! Admission is free, and there is bound to be fun for the whole family.

Eagle Days at the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge: January 18 – January 19
January is the prime time to see eagles in North America, and the St. Louis region is one of the most popular places to spot these majestic creatures. At the Eagle Days event, you will be able to watch eagles fishing, riding ice floes, soaring overhead, and roosting in nearby trees. You will also have access to an educational program featuring a live eagle and warming tent activities. This event takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

Not able to make it? The Alton Visitors Center will feature Eagle Meet and Greets each Saturday in January with up-close-and-personal time with a live eagle. You can also choose to go solo and watch eagles in the wild in America’s #1 spot to watch eagles – Alton, Illinois.

Cardinals Winter Warm Up: January 18 – January 20
Miss baseball and can’t wait for spring training to begin? Check out the Cardinals Winter Warm-Up at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch! This event is the largest of several fundraising efforts that supply grants to non-profit agencies in the St. Louis area that help kids in health education, mentoring, and the arts. Meet and greet select members of the 2013 National League Champion Cardinals team, take part in interactive games, and make great baseball memories. All proceeds will benefit Cardinals Care, the team’s community foundation that supports kids.

The St. Louis Auto Show: January 23 – January 26
Experience cars like nothing ever before at the St. Louis Auto Show at America’s Center! Hundreds of new cars, trucks, vans, and sport utility vehicles will be on display representing domestic and foreign manufacturers. There is bound to be something for everyone at the car show!
