- The government shutdown has still had a relatively small impact on the real estate industry, but the Chief Economist for the National Association of REALTORS says each day creates more uncertainty and fear. 

- The Wall Street Journal reports that although homes are still more affordable than any time between 1989 and late 2008, housing affordability hit a four-year low in August.

- An increasing number of high-end home owners are making meditation and prayer spaces.
